Meet the CoachMike Gaydosh will begin his sixth season as head coach of the Men’s and Women’s golf program at Homer-Center. High on his many accomplishments leading the golf program is coaching Ian Illig to the PIAA State Finals. Along with Ian’s accomplishments, Coach Gaydosh’s teams have amassed a 40-10 record in conference play, two Heritage Conference titles, an Inter-County Conference title, four top ten finishes in the prestigious Dr. Wheeling Tournament at Sunnehanna Country Club, one undefeated season and in 2014 had Abby Yancy become Homer-Center’s first female golfer to qualify for the district tournament.
Coach Gaydosh was born and raised in the Homer-Center area, graduated from Homer- Center, and still resides in the district. As a golfer for over thirty years, Coach Gaydosh is a former Indiana VFW Club Champion, Homer City Open Champion and past Myrtle Beach Pumpkin Head Classic Champion. Coach Gaydosh is a Field Landman for EXCO Resources based out of Dallas, Texas covering the state of PA. Coach Gaydosh has two children, Megan and Andrew both graduates of Homer- Center. Megan is currently a graduate student at Saint Francis University, majoring in Occupational Therapy. Andrew played for Coach Gaydosh and was part of the undefeated team that qualified for the district tournament that year. Andrew is currently a Safety Science major at IUP and still playing competitive golf. Coach Gaydosh enjoys playing golf, fishing and spending time with family and friends. |
